Dove Nutrium Moisture Body Wash Product Review

On November 26, 2009

I received my set of Dove Nutrium Moisture Body Wash from Rocket XL last week. The new line of body wash from Dove has three variants: Deep Moisture, Sensitive Skin, and Gentle Exfoliating. I tried the Deep Moisture Variant because my skin is prone to dryness. And then, I asked my sister and my mom to try the other two so we can discuss how each variant worked for our skin types.

First, my sister who has sensitive skin tried the unscented variant for her skin type. She's quite happy to announce that she had no allergic reaction to Dove's Nutrium Moisture body wash after her first try. In fact, she continues to use it everyday because she likes how the product leaves her skin supple and adds that it may not be scented, but it still leaves a delicately fresh note on her skin.

Second, my mom tried the Gentle Exfoliating variant because she has a normal-to-oily skin type and would like to get rid of her skin's impurities. She used to have a dedicated soap for everyday use and a separate milk and salt scrub that she uses twice a week. But after trying Dove's Nutrium Moisture Gentle Exfoliating variant, she decided she only need just one product for her skin type.

Lastly, I tried the Deep Moisture variant since I'm always conscious with my skin's moisture level. I don't like the tight, itchy feeling when my skin gets dry. I can say that I love this product because it's fragrantly yummy, and I step out of the shower feeling squeaky clean, yet my skin feels nourished. I like the glow it gives my skin after every use. To everyone, don't hesitate to try this new body wash technology from Dove!

5 simple ways to beautify over the weekend.

After a long stressful week, why not have some pampering to look forward to instead of just the casual DVD marathon while pigging out with popcorn or potato chips? Here’s my personal list on how I spend a weekend to recharge the mind, body, and soul. You don’t have to spend a fortune on these easy, simple fixes!

1)    Aromatherapy. Take deep breaths while enjoying your favourite therapeutic scent. Studies have shown that this helps improve sleep and clears the state of mind. Tip: Aside from burning incense, oil, or lighting up a scented candle, another way of bringing a cheerful aroma is letting the coffee maker on brewing rich, fresh coffee to make the home smell like a cozy coffee shop.

2)    Hot Milk or White Tea. These hot beverages alleviate the feeling of being bloated and they both have relaxing properties to make you feel more comfortable while unwinding. Tip: A cup or two while reading a good book or watching a chick flick will add a sense of happiness and contentment, your body will thank you for it.

3)    Facial Massage. Regular three to five minutes of facial massage is proven to improve blood circulation in the face and invigorate facial tissues, thus giving your face a happy, healthy glow. The best part is you can do it yourself! Tip: There are plenty of instructional guides over the web on how to properly massage the face. Try one over the weekend.

4)    Warm Bath. Wash your worries away! Gentle bubbles in a warm bath create a subtle rhythm to the body that lulls it and soothe muscles that tightened up during the rollercoaster week that has been. Tip: Use gentle pouf and a mild body wash that replenishes skin’s natural moisture like Dove’s Body Wash with Nutrium Moisture!

5)    Prayers. No mind, face, or body is beautiful without a strong soul. Attending church services, reading the Bible, and being grateful makes your spirit ready for the next week’s challenges. Tip: A full-tank soul is a sure-fire way to tell that you really have recharged, and de-stressed over the weekend.

May you all have a great weekend ahead!

The Bionic Human

A cyborg is half human, half machine and that's what I have to be now. I have zero background in industrial skills yet I have to study everything about it theoretically (thanks to my charming apprentice status). Oh wait, I know workplace mathematics, but that's it. I studied IT in college and now I can tell that machines are a whole lot complicated.

I am now covering machine technology, pneumatics, programmable logic controllers, instrumentation, electrical & mechanical maintenance, and fieldbus process control. Who would have a wild thought that a girl like me who blogs about fashion runways and lip gloss would have to study industrial trade? That never ran to my mind before.

No, I don't dread the thought. It's just that I'm a bit overwhelmed at first but I'm starting to like it now. As a matter of fact, I can see myself in a hard hat and stiletto heels.

Her sister was also sick, fever an sore throat, her brother had a low grade fever and ached all over. I wasn't the best either, sore throat and fever. There must be something going around, her father even got hot last night.

Now we know why parents are screaming for better education for our kids.

My ultimate favorite? #16. "Please excuse jennifer for missing school yesterday. We forgot to get the sunday paper off the porch, and when we found it monday. We thought it was sunday."

As I grow older...

I realize valuable things at 20's. It's an age when you're no longer that young, yet you still have stupid childish thoughts. Here are just some of the things I realize and I'll continue updating this list as I go on, without advise.
  • "I wish I knew then what I know now" is a sentence you'll find yourself repeating over and over again in the course of your lifetime. That's why fantasy stories about time machines and time travel made it to our books and movies. Reality check, all we have is "now".
  • When I was a kid, all other girls dream of being princesses or ballerinas while I wanted to be a ninja. My teachers always thought something's wrong with that. I just think that they should have been more supportive and respectful of their students' unique personalities.
  • Marriage isn't a priority. It should never be when all you want is something exciting to happen in your life. There's just so much to learn, experience, and explore before tying the knot.
  • I don't easily trust, I choose my friends, I antagonize people unintentionally and I prefer it that way. I have better things to do and I don't have time and energy for some unnecessary drama.
  • There are no ugly women, just discontented, bitter ones. Stay happy. - xoxo Stacey

Fall 2009 Women's Trousers

Photos from http://www.fashionmagazine-best.com

This is from the Etro Fall 2009 runway show and I got really excited seeing how chic these ensembles are. The verdict: Sophisticated, modest, yet very sharp. The dressy pleated trouser rocks my socks; I like how it gives a refreshing note on power-dressing. Almost everyone has a pair or two of gladiator pumps or wedge sandals nowadays which makes it easier to pull off this look.

Chibi Stacey Chan

On November 06, 2009Chibi Maruko Chan! I have been watching this with my sister since the early 90's and that was even if we couldn't understand the dubbing in Mandarin! I cried in joy when I first saw episodes of this in English when I was already in high school. I'm glad that Animax Asia is still running episodes of this anime series up to now. There's just so much beautiful nostalgia this series bring aside from the humor of Maruko's silly, sweet innocence. Like Maruko, I have a fair share of funny experiences as a kid. Oh well, don't we all?

My personal favorite family member from the show aside from Maruko is her grandfather Tomozou Sakura. He's always on Maruko's side and is very supportive of her, just like my own grandfather to me. He told me stories of his youth, taught me how to enjoy life without fancy toys, and simply be a child. We would go to our garden and he would ask me to collect dry leaves and let me make paper decors out of it.

He taught me how to accept loss when I was young and our first dog named Poochie died. We buried Poochie and prayed together. God has been very nice to me and I am thankful to have my grandpa as one of my dear guardians while growing up.

Have a good day everyone. Thanks be to GOD.

Wall-E weeknight

On November 2, 2009

Some things never change. Last year, I was actively blogging during the latter months and I'm inspired to do the same this year. 2009 has been full of challenges and I would like it to end positively. Therefore, I decided that from now up to December (at least), I will only write about all the feel-good things that I come across everyday and be thankful for all of it.

Yesterday, my elder sister with my nephew came home for an overnight stay at Mom and Dad's house. We were all there: Dad, Mom, my two sisters, my nephew and myself. It feels great to be complete in a chilly November evening, eating pizza while watching Wall-E on cable tv. After so many questions about Wall-E, Eve, the captain, the plant in a shoe, and why the people are all stout, my sweet nephew fell fast asleep.

See? Happiness come in small, stubborn, and cute packages! To God be the glory forever.
